Our Family Literacy program enables parents to improve their interaction with their children on the subject of language development through shared activities that help develop communication skills from a very young age.
We have developed and published children’s books and a network of activities based on the culture of the Arab Bedouin community in the Negev. These new materials are used by parents, children and educational staff all the while preserving the heritage and local identity of the community.
During the last four years, hundreds of Arab mothers and their children from the Negev and dozens of preschool caregivers have participated in our training programs. They, in turn, have shared the Family Literacy program with hundreds of new mothers in the community.
