Leaders

Leaders is a brand new, two-year social justice initiative inaugurated in 2013-2014, in which 24 Bedouin university students participate. In their first year, students partake in weekly leadership courses and conduct community evaluations to design projects that they will implement in their communities in their second year.

During this period, they also volunteer in pairs in the Bedouin cities of Rahat and Tel Sheva, teaching leadership and empowerment courses to 5th and 6th graders, tailored to their developmental level. In exchange for this intensive work, volunteers receive scholarships from their home institutions of the Achva Academic College, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, and Sapir College.

Leaders is generously supported by the Pines Family Foundation.
